"A River's Journey" is the track you are hearing from the "Canyon Walls" cd. Jonas, a self-taught piano player, has been playing improvisationally for 30 years. Influences range from Otis Spann, Eubie Blake, Bill Payne, Keith Emerson, Keith Jarrett and Chuck Leavell.
The music on "Canyon Walls" was taken from a 3 hour improv session on a 9-foot Steinway grand. On three tracks , Bob Heminger on tenor saxaphone and Kulu on African drums and percussion join in on some foot stompin' numbers.
